I was in need of a bathroom remodel and most of the contractors I contacted in the Bellingham area were not interested in a “small” remodel. I was referred to Tyson The Builder (of Stay Home Improvements) and contacted him. He wasn’t immediately available, but the timeframe worked fine with me. I had an idea of the design from something I found on the internet. We used that as a template and Tyson was able to come up with a bid that accomplished a very nice remodel and stayed within the budget I had. Tyson completed a major renovation of our early 1900s home that included a kitchen, entry way, custom storage, and the removal of load-bearing walls. His work exceeded our expectations through all phases of the project, and we could not be happier with the quality of his work. Three things stick out: First, he was fully immersed in every detail of our project. Tyson takes on one project at a time, which means all his energy was focused on our remodel. He routinely pointed out details that we did not see or anticipate. After a while, we stopped obsessing about the details of our project because we knew that he was obsessing at an entirely different level. Second, he takes pride in his craft. Whether it was demolition, framing, or finishing touches, it was clear that Tyson set very high expectations for the quality of his work. If he ever felt as though something did not meet that standard, he would point it out himself and redo the task. He maintained an impressively organized worksite and spent time at the end of each day vacuuming dust and tidying up the space. It was abundantly clear that he loves his work. Third, he completed the project on time. Tyson provided us a detailed schedule of the project and stuck to it throughout the duration. At one point, we had a delay in the delivery of important materials that was out of his control. He was able to adapt his workflow around this issue and still get our project done on time. Day-to-day, he showed up when he said he would and always communicated updates to his timelines if anything changed. Overall, we found Tyson to be a pleasure to work with. He was friendly toward us and professional with all subcontractors. He made himself available if we had questions (we asked many, admittedly) and showed great respect for our house. We highly recommend his services and will certainly work with him again as we continue to renovate our old home. - Joseph
I had the luxury of witnessing firsthand the incredible workmanship of your Tyson The Builder LLC and couldn't be more pleased. Their dedication to restoring and remodeling older houses is admirable. My dad house, built in 1902, has great sentimental significance for me. It's comforting to know that those with the expertise and talent of Tyson The Builder LLC respect history but also modernize houses to today's standards. They also respected a great deal about the original features of the home, including the existing knob and tube (K&T) wiring still present in some of the kitchen walls. My dad would tell stories about the personal character of the house, and Tyson The Builder LLC respected those elements and improved overall safety and functionality.
